An Introduction to Icelandic Writers – Wednesday, October 14th (12PM ET)
Pre-recorded in Reykjavík, IWR Co-Founder and Iceland’s First Lady, Eliza Reid, will moderate a panel discussion between Icelandic authors as they discuss their careers and current work. The panel will feature writer, poet, and former IWR faculty member Gerður Kristný, crime writer Lilja Sigurðardóttir, poet and former IWR volunteer Fríða Ísberg, and author and poet Mazen Maarouf.
Iceland Writers Retreat Mini Workshop + Author Q&A – Thursday, October 15th (12PM ET)
This mini workshop will include a discussion about memoir writing led by memoirist, editor, best selling food writer, and former IWR faculty member, Ruth Reichl, as well as a discussion about point of view in fiction led by Man Booker Prize nominee and former IWR faculty member, Neel Mukherjee. Following the mini workshops, Reichl and Mukherjee will speak about their experience teaching at IWR and will answer participants’ questions. The event will be moderated by IWR Co-Founder Eliza Jacobs Green.
