Each year, authors and aspiring writers from all around the world come together to participate in the Iceland Writers Retreat. The event hosts small group workshops, networking and a unique travel experience that allows writers to focus on their writing while being inspired by the culture around them.
Due to the current circumstances, the 2020 event has been rescheduled for October 14-18, but is still excited to welcome aspiring writers to Iceland and participate in this one-of-a-kind retreat!
The following authors are confirmed to lead workshops at the October event: Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, Will Ferguson, Patrick Gale, Kristín Helga Gunnarsdóttir, Heather Harpham, Elnathan John, Dan Kois, and Gretchen Rubin. The festival will be held at the Radisson Blu Saga Hotel. Events include a literary-themed Golden Circle tour, welcome dinner and reading, receptions, literary walking tour, pub night, and Q&A panel – with the added bonus that mid-October can be a great time to catch a glimpse of the northern lights! Given that there is still uncertainty surrounding international travel for the time being, registration for the October event will open a few months from now when global travel allowances are more clear.
