Kick off the holiday season with a musical production at the Iceland Symphony Orchestra! The annual Christmas at the Symphony returns on December 15 and 16 to get Icelanders and visitors alike in the holiday spirit.
The production gives the audience a glimpse into the baðstofa, the common room of an Icelandic farm where Christmas cats and Christmas elves live. Composed by Jórunn Viðar, the orchestra will be accompanied by the Reykjavik Girls’ Choir, the Litlu Sprotarnir Sign Language Choir, Valgerður Guðnadóttir and Kolbrún Völkudóttir. Interpretive dance students from the Iceland Ballet Academy will perform Ingibjörg Þorbergs’ Christmas Cat and Gunnar Þórðarson’s Jólaóður (Ode to Christmas). The Reykjanes Music School Bell Choir will also be performing holiday classics before and after the show!
The Christmas at the Symphony will be showing on December 15 and 16 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the magic of Christmas come to life! Tickets are available for purchase here.
