“My Head is an Animal,” the hit album from Of Monsters and Men, debuted in the UK at No. 3 this week. Though the album was released nearly a year ago in Iceland and came out in Europe and North America this spring, “My Head Is An Animal” did not arrive in the UK until August 27.
The band’s No. 3 debut on the UK charts was the most successful debut album by an Icelandic artist since Björk’s “Debut” in 1993. Her 1995 album “Post” still holds the all-time UK record for an Icelandic artist, having reached the No. 2 position.
Of Monsters and Men has enjoyed considerable success in both Europe and North America in recent months. The band’s hit single “Little Talks” peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and is currently No. 12 on the UK charts.
