A Taste of Iceland is bringing the vibrant culture of Iceland to New York City for the first time this fall! The five-day event will celebrate Iceland's food, and music from October 2-6, giving NYC a taste of what life is like in Iceland.

Icelandic Menu at NORTH Food Festival, October 3 & 6
Experience the cuisine that changed modern cooking at the NORTH Nordic Food Festival October 2-7, and enjoy a special Icelandic menu at ACME in Manhattan. ACME's chef Mads Refslund, co-founder of Noma, is teaming up with chef Gunnar Karl Gislason from Reykjavik's famous Dill restaurant to bring the Icelandic and Nordic cuisine to your front door. Whether you come for lunch, dinner or both, you are guaranteed to be served a meal you will never forget. Discover what New Nordic truly means at ACME, one of New York's hottest restaurants.

Iceland Airwaves and Filter Magazine Present Reykjavik Calling, October 5
Reykjavik Calling, presented by Iceland Airwaves and Filter Magazine Culture Collide, will feature three of the best emerging Icelandic musicians, collaborating with two New York acts for a night of unique musical performances. Admission is FREE with ticket. Must be 18 years or older to enter.

How Do Little Frogs Fly? Small States in the International System, October 4
As part of A Taste of Iceland in New York, the Icelandic American Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Iceland in New York invites you to a lecture lead by Professor Baldur Thorhallsson, 'Class of 1955' Visiting Professor of International Studies at Williams College, Massachusetts, at the Consulate General of Iceland in New York on October 4th. The focus of the lecture will be on the role of small states in the international system. Topics to be discussed will include: Vulnerability of Small States, Domestic Arrangement & Democratic Corporatism, External Arrangement & Alliance Formation, and a discussion regarding how small states can become proactive.
The lecture takes place on Friday, October 4th from 4-5 PM, followed by an hour-long networking session. The Consulate General of Iceland in New York is located at 800 Third Avenue, 36th Floor. There is limited seating so please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org before October 2nd.
Master Classes in New Nordic Cuisine
Learn about New Nordic cuisine from some of the most talented Scandinavian chefs in the world. Attendees will listen to the chefs discuss their passion for their Nordic heritage while preparing signature dishes that are specific to their region.

Nordic Christmas Cooking Class
In this nostalgic and inspiring cooking class, chef Bengtsson will take you to the Nordic region at Christmas time. Produced by Honest Cooking Magazine, in collaboration with Restaurant Aquavit and the International Culinary Center, NORTH is the first ever Nordic gastronomy festival to take place in New York City. NORTH will take place Wednesday, October 2 through Monday, October 7 with the majority of events being held at the ICC in SoHo.
